The Year of the Dragon is again just around the corner and fear and trepidation are once more an issue. This time it’s the Mayan Calendar and the alleged 2012 Armageddon prophecy. Is the Chinese Year of the Dragon, which comes around every 12 years, truly something to be feared?

Unlike the wicked, fire-breathing dragons of Western mythology, China’s celestial dragon symbolizes potent and benevolent power. Dragons are ancient, majestic, wise, and intelligent, and Dragon years are considered particularly auspicious for new businesses, marriage and children. Dragon years also tend to boost individual fortunes and the world economy.

It’s also true, however, that all five of the Chinese Dragon years — Wood, Fire, Earth, Metal and Water — tend to magnify both success and failure. So while they can mark huge achievement, disasters can be equally immense. The Year of the Fire Dragon (1917, 1976, and 2036) typically wreaks the most havoc.

However, the Year of the Water Dragon (1992, 1952 and 2012) is noted for its calm, visionary intelligence, and balance of right brain creativity with left brain logic.

What influence might the Water Dragon, which rules from January 23, 2012 to February 9, 2013, have on the powerful energies already anticipated at that time?

Like all Dragons, the Water Dragon is an innovative, fearless leader. But the Water Dragon is also far more sensitive to others’ needs, and is more likely to be progressive and diplomatic, as well as socially and environmentally conscious. Because Water bestows a more peaceful disposition, this Dragon will act wisely and intelligently, and unlike his fellow Dragons, is willing to set aside his ego for the good of all.

This Dragon is a successful negotiator, and while he is adept at marketing, he also knows how to apply force skilfully when necessary. On the down side, the Water Dragon sometimes forgets to build a solid foundation for his grand plans, and he can hold on too long to pet ideas and projects, and thus create a famous Dragon-sized disaster.

If you subscribe to the dawn-of-a-new-era theory of 2012, then it’s easy to see how the influence of the Water Dragon will increase the likelihood of success for progressive movements gaining momentum all across the globe. Energy conservation and green energy-producing technologies, curtailing Global Warming, challenges to multinational corporations, attention to world hunger and the renewed health of the oceans and sea creatures will all likely do very well.

If your expectations tend more toward disaster, then you might expect tsunamis, hurricanes, monsoons and other weather extremes to be in the headlines.

But of all the Dragon years, the 2012 Water Dragon is most likely to bestow the Five Chinese Blessings of harmony, virtue, riches, fulfilment and longevity, adding even more weight to the growing belief that 2012 will be about breakthroughs, not disasters.

It’s a wonderful time for all of humanity when Jupiter enters the sign of Gemini on June 6th and brings fantastic financial news for everybody but especially for communications, media and technology companies. This generous and humanitarian influence brings a new prosperity and intelligence to all that we do.

Saturn, the planet of governments, war and discipline will be in the indecisive yet diplomatic sign of Libra for most of 2012. It may feel like the basics to do with life are snarled up in too much red tape. When Saturn enters Scorpio after October 14th, 2012 for a stay of two years most governments will be reassessing every aspect of their finances and social services. Scorpio is a sign that symbolizes ruthless cutbacks; often because they are needed for survival.

There are some times in 2012 when Jupiter and Saturn will clash and cause economic upheaval, deprivation and war. So be sure to save money and have contingency plans for any emergencies that may arise in February, late June and July.

Throughout most of 2012 the inventive planet of Uranus is in Aries which means we will continue to hear about new technology. In the media there will be many bizarre news stories, possibly to do with how one new age leaders or others are planning to save the world. During 2012 people will be taking their souls quite seriously as the end-of-the-world rumours become even more rampant.

Neptune, which is a very emotional planet is in Pisces which means that many religious factions will not be able to “see the wood for the trees” or how being unsympathetic to other spiritual practices actually causes war rather than peace. There will no doubt be a great deal of unrest in the Middle East and also in places in the world where and when we may least expect it. As Neptune is such a strongly irrational influence when it is in Pisces we can expect a lot of bizarre news about people joining cults or about disturbed types taking extreme actions before the Apocalypse does it for them. To add to the apocalyptic theme of being uprooted in order to transform our foundations Pluto will continue to be in Capricorn continually destroying and relocating our identities and forcing a re-evaluation.

We could also see some extreme weather or geological events (such as earthquakes) impact some cities where they are least expected. Bad weather, shifty politics and a lack of economic stability will continue to push many of us out of our comfort zones.

In 2012 there is going to be a very rare astrological event that has not been seen in sky since 1882 when Queen Victoria ruled the world and an age of culture thrived. This year, on June 6th Venus will make a very rare transit across the sun and bring a very powerful female personality into prominence. This influential feminine presence could be a spiritual or a political leader or both. At any rate her influence will arrive just in time to save the world from sinking into a mire of economic and spiritual gloom.

If a worldwide spiritual awakening occurs in 2012 it is most likely to occur on December 21st 2012 when a rare planetary triangle called a “Yod” or “Finger of God” occurs between Pluto, Saturn and Jupiter. This usually points to a tragedy or loss that somehow forces us all to a wake up call for major change so that we do not ever allow the same kind of disaster to happen again. As Saturn and Jupiter are planets of man-made events it is likely that the crisis will be created by a government somewhere in this world and impacts us all directly.

The good news is that Pluto’s energy is going to force us to change our damaging behaviours into better ones as a result. This angle configuration is a significant indication of big changes in attitudes, prompting us to think about how our societies may work better. It predicts transformations and the expansions of previous ideas and the development of new ones. It may additionally have an effect on our view of natures role in our life and the possible return of the study of the medicinal benefits of plants.
The year 2012 is eagerly anticipated in order to see events unfold following the ending of the Mayan calendar. This has sparked quite an interest in the World as no one is exactly sure why this ancient date system ends in 2012. There are many prophecies of doom attached to this particular year but the majority of us are a lot more optimistic for the future. Pluto is not the only planet that will have an impact in the year 2012 of Dragon, Neptune also has much authority with its equally prominent positioning. In 2012 Neptune will be located in its own sign of Pisces giving it strengthening of its power. This particular planet is thought to help connect us with our higher levels of thinking and the concept of working together to accomplish goals. The strength of this planet in its most favourable position sees it initiating a universal effort for us to notice and take action on injustices of all kinds. At Neptune’s side in 2012 the astrological asteroid Chiron is present adding a liberating essence to the mix. It can assist Neptune with its delivery of emphasizing the message of the advantages of combining and sharing resources on a global scale.

During 2012 the planet Uranus joins Pluto, Neptune, Saturn and Jupiter in a group around the Sun. Forget analysts’ forecasts and economic indicators – companies wanting a peek into industry trends are being offered a more spiritual solution to their corporate dilemmas. Delegates at the Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development Conference can take a look into the future with the latest addition at recruitment firm Wideeyes – “mystic to the stars” Lee Van Zyl.

The firm has signed up Ms Van Zyl, who boasts Madonna and Simply Red star Mick Hucknall among her celebrity clients as well as international “blue chips”, for a crystal ball view on the prospects and hidden talents of delegates attending the conference in Harrogate. Rachel Haynes, human resources manager at Wideeyes, says the exercise is part of the firm’s aim to get companies to look beyond the CV and use psychometric testing to uncover the talents of potential employees.

The company says that demand for Ms Van Zyl’s predictions has been huge and the mystic was booked solid for the three-day conference, which closes tomorrow.

As well as a spiritual element the conference has had something of a military theme. Ex Special Boat Service marine Mike Williams took to the stage and declared: “Competition for skilled workers is likely to become ‘guerrilla warfare’. Mr Williams, who is now working as a management consultant, said the “war” for talented staff was intensifying in the face of increasing shortages of skilled employees.

The trend of top staff to switch from traditional companies into dotcom ventures high-lighted the scramble for talented workers. Firms should review their strategies to make sure they were attractive to “high achievers”.

How wonderful that we have a top-notch celebrity clairvoyant in the borough, it’s just a pity that some people in Brent found out so late. It might have been prudent for Wembley national Stadium Ltd, for example, to consult Ms Van Zyl prior to submitting a ludicrous £410m bid to City financiers for the new stadium (otherwise known as Tracy Island). And perhaps is would have been sensible for Brent Council to use her services to guage the response from local residents to the sale of the John Billam sports pavilion (it would almost certainly have brought in a more accurate answer than their consultation process).

A clairvoyant has been looking at stars of a more earthly nature of late after some of Britain’s celebrities began calling on her expertise.

Lee Van Zyl has been asked to do readings for singer Danni Minogue, actor Joseph Fiennes and pop sensation Natalie Imbruglia.

Ms Van Zyl, aged 39, who runs her clairvoyancy business from home in Moyne Lane, Park Royal, says she has been able to see into the future since she can remember. “I come from a family with a long history of this ability and so no one was surprised when I started to show signs of it too,” she says. “From the age of about three-and-a-half I would know when someone was going to telephone us or call at the house. I have had to go through a lot of training to develop my gift since then though. I don’t think people realise what a complicated art it is. You have to make sure that your readings are accurate of you want people to keep coming back.”

Ms Van Zyl, who grew up in Buckinghamshire, has not always been so sure about her calling. She went through a period of wondering whether she was imagining her powers when she was in her teens. “I decided that I needed to look at it as objectively as possible, and so I started to research. Everybody has a soul guide to help them in their spiritual life. Mine had told me he was a north American Indian called No-Name. Thank you for the e-mail reading with the new word file and voice attachment format. I found the numerology very uncannily accurate in many (actually loads of) places. Thank you also for the voice file, it has especially helped me look more positively on moving out of my current situation. Even uncannily too, it is very accurate in the little things such as I have been thinking about getting involved in a second income. Plus I was even thinking about more travelling in the summer. The description at the end of a lovely, joyful jolly man describes my dad exactly. He was a builder and loved working with his hands and loved working outside. I do look after my Mum, so that was really accurate. For years I have struggled with my weight. Postal Distant Readings on CD – £75.00

A distant reading by post can give you a comprehensive, in-depth and precise interpretation of the all the factors surrounding your questions. Who is involved, what they are thinking and feeling, what is their influence on you and your outcomes? Are there any obstacles to look out for, do you need protection and what can you expect in the future. I will validate the situation and swiftly develop my remote-viewing clairvoyance to “see” the circumstances from every angle to provide specific answers to your questions with accurate predictions for the future. Distant Postal readings are undertaken when the confirmed order is received. Please allow up to 7 days for the CD to arrive.
